Navigating Grief and Healing Through Mediumship: A Personal Journey

Losing someone deeply cherished leaves a void that feels impossible to fill. Two years ago, I lost my beloved grandmother. Now, her husband—my equally beloved grandfather—is on hospice care, nearing the end of his life. These experiences have shaped my understanding of grief and healing in profound ways. As a medium, I have witnessed the pain and sorrow that those left behind endure when a loved one crosses into the afterlife. But I have also seen the gentle light of healing that can emerge through connection beyond the physical world.

This post shares a personal journey through grief and healing, exploring how mediumship can offer comfort and peace. It is not about the medium’s abilities alone but about the shared energy between the medium, the client, and those who have passed. I will also recount a recent reading with a young man in the United Kingdom, whose experience brought him unexpected healing after losing his mother.

Understanding Grief Through Personal Loss

Grief is a deeply personal experience, and no two journeys are the same. When my grandmother passed away, the pain was immediate and overwhelming. The absence of her presence felt like a physical ache. Watching my grandfather now, as he approaches the end of his life, brings a new dimension to grief—anticipatory grief, the sorrow felt before a loss occurs.

Grief often isolates people, making them feel alone in their pain. But it also connects us through shared human experience. My role as a medium has allowed me to witness this connection firsthand. I have seen how grief can be transformed when those left behind find a way to communicate with their loved ones beyond death.

What Mediumship Really Means

Mediumship is often misunderstood. It is not about the medium’s “skills” or special powers. Instead, it is a collaborative process involving three energies:

  • The medium’s energy

  • The client’s energy

  • The energy of those in the afterlife

This triad creates a bridge that allows messages and healing to flow. The medium acts as a channel, but the connection depends on the openness and energy of everyone involved. This means that healing through mediumship is not guaranteed by the medium alone—it requires trust, openness, and shared intention.

A Healing Experience Across Continents

Recently, I conducted a mediumship reading with a young man in the United Kingdom. He had lost his mother only a few months earlier. I asked him not to share any details about his loss or his mother’s life during our session. This approach helps keep the connection pure and free from influence.

During the reading, messages came through that deeply resonated with him. At the end of our hour together, he revealed that his mother had connected with us from the afterlife. He shared that the reading brought him great healing and peace, something he had struggled to find since her passing.

This experience highlights how mediumship can provide comfort and closure, even when words alone cannot. It also shows that healing can cross physical distances, connecting hearts across countries and time zones.

Practical Ways Mediumship Supports Healing

Mediumship can be a valuable tool for those navigating grief. Here are some ways it supports healing:

  • Validation of feelings: Hearing messages from a loved one can confirm that the bond continues beyond death.

  • Closure: Mediumship can answer lingering questions and ease feelings of unfinished business.

  • Peace and comfort: Knowing that a loved one is at peace can reduce anxiety and sorrow.

  • Encouragement to grieve: Mediumship can help people accept their grief and move through it rather than suppress it.

  • Connection: It reminds us that love transcends physical separation.

For example, a client who lost a sibling found comfort in a reading that revealed shared memories and reassurances from the afterlife. This helped her release guilt and find a new sense of calm.

Navigating Your Own Grief Journey

If you are considering mediumship as part of your healing process, here are some tips:

  • Approach with an open mind: Healing requires openness to the experience, even if it feels unfamiliar.

  • Choose a trusted medium: Look for someone with a compassionate approach and good references.

  • Set clear intentions: Know what you hope to gain from the session, whether it is peace, answers, or connection.

  • Allow yourself to feel: Grief is complex. Let yourself experience emotions without judgment.

  • Use mediumship as one part of healing: It can complement therapy, support groups, and self-care practices.

Remember, healing is not linear. It takes time and patience.

The Power of Shared Energy in Healing

The energy shared between the medium, the client, and those in the afterlife is what makes mediumship powerful. This connection is not about control or prediction but about mutual respect and love. When all parties bring openness and intention, the experience can be deeply transformative.

In my own journey, this shared energy has helped me find peace with my grandmother’s passing and prepare emotionally for my grandfather’s final days. It has also allowed me to support others in their grief, offering a bridge to healing when words alone fall short.

Healing through mediumship is a journey of connection, love, and acceptance. It reminds us that even in loss, we are never truly alone. If you are facing grief, consider exploring this path with an open heart. It may bring you the peace and comfort you need to move forward.
